Borgata celebrates ten years of the “Borgata Poker Open” with a record breaking 3,705 participants entered into event 1 generating $1,852,500 in prize money.

The tournament’s $1 Million Guaranteed Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em event experienced the largest attendance in the history of East Coast poker
“I came in early for this event because I absolutely love Borgata; from the accessibility to the structure to the variety of games, everything is done with the utmost priority given to the player and their needs,” said John Racener, poker pro and 2010 WSOP Main Event runner-up. “This is without a doubt the largest single-event turnout anywhere on the East Coast. It reminds me of the Sunday Million tournament we used to play online, where you buy-in for $200 and try to beat out thousands of players for that quarter million dollar score.”
The Borgata Poker Open continues over the next 13 days, culminating with the $3 million guaranteed World Poker Tour® (WPT) Borgata Poker Open Championship, scheduled for September 16-21. The $3,500 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event is part of the WPT Season XI and will be filmed from Day 1 through the final table and televised on Fox Sports Net.
Last year’s Borgata Poker Open Championship boasted a record 1,313 entries – one of the largest fields in the history of the World Poker Tour. Past champions include Bobby Oboodi (2011), Dwyte Pilgrim (2010), Olivier Busquet (2009), Vivek Rajkumar (2008), Roy Winston (2007), Mark Newhouse (2006), Al Ardebili (2005), Daniel Negreanu (2004) and Noli Francisco (2003).
On-site registration will be available daily from 8 a.m. through midnight for each event. To view the event schedule or more information, visit www.theborgata.com
